ALDES è un’associazione di artisti e operatori culturali che dal 1993, sotto la direzione di Roberto Castello, produce e promuove opere di sperimentazione coreografica con particolare attenzione alle forme di confine fra danza e arti visive, danza e nuove tecnologie, danza e teatro, realizzando spettacoli, video, installazioni, performances e manifestazioni che hanno come oggetto il corpo, il movimento e la loro rappresentazione. ALDES è un progetto politico, un esperimento di gestione responsabile della cultura e dell’azione artistica e del rapporto con il territorio. ALDES riunisce alcuni tra gli autori italiani di danza più significativi sperimentando modalità organizzative che mirino a sgravare gli artisti da ogni onere burocratico.

ALDES is a no-profit association of artists and cultural workers, established in 1993, which produces and fosters experimental choreography using dance, visual arts and new technologies under the artistic direction of its founder Roberto Castello. ALDES creates performances, installations, events and videos dealing with body, movement and the way they are represented. Particular attention is paid to how choreography and audiences interact, and therefore to all forms of contemporary dance which attempt new space/time relationships between works and their audience. ALDES is a political proposal to manage culture and artistic action in a responsible way, in connection with its own territory. Aldes rounds up some of the most interesting and imaginative Italian authors, experimenting organizational structures in order to ease the artistic process and free it from bureaucratic burdens.

ALDES è sostenuta dal Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali e del Turismo / Direzione Generale per lo spettacolo dal vivo e da Regione Toscana / Sistema Regionale dello Spettacolo e dal è ufficialmente Residenza Artistica nel quadro della legge toscana per la cultura.
